Welcome to my 99 in 999!!!

Welcome, so as of lately I discovered someone's blog who is doing this whole 99 in 999... which is basically obtaining 99 goals in 999 days. I first thought about how 999 days is a long ways a way and in a sense, it just gives me more time to procrastinate... but then I figured with some of the things I wanna do, I won't be able to do them in say just 1 or two years... so the 999 is pretty good. So at the bottom of this page, I will be starting to create my 99 list... this may take a while... so I am not going to start a countdown untill my list is fully created. As this creation may take a while, I am going to open up the lines for any suggestions on things that should go on the list... Hopefully this list and blog will help me cut down on my procrastination and my inability to stay focused and remember things. Mainly though, give me goals to work towards and personal drives to keep me going. Our lives need a little excitement. Well... we're off..................

9. Back to the future marathon

Well, the week I got back from New Mexico, I was cruising around and decided to stop at a local movie and music shop. While in there I came across a used box set of the Back to the Future Trilogy! Knowing my goal and my love for BTTF, I went with it and proceeded back to my humble abode and checked off another goal! A while back I realized that in order to finish my goals, I will have to do on average 2-3 goals a month. This kind of makes the reality of this thing a bit more pertinent, in that you think 999 days is a while, but in comparison to amount of things I need to get done, no. Especially since I have many goals that are a bit more indepth, complicated and monetarily stressing. Getting back into the swing of school and such has taken most of my focus these past few weeks, but I am hoping that once I get into a steady rhythm I will be able to put some more attention to these goals. I do have plans to accomplish another goal this Saturday, as I will be attending a peaceful march in Charleston to support the Freeing of Marc Emery from US custody. I am really looking forward to this!

Summer Update

Well, I haven't been staying up to date with this thing, so I am going to do some-what of a summer so far update of a few goals a obtained.

48. grow beard to atleast 3 1/2 in. below chin

I obtained this during the summer period. At that point I took a specimen from my beard and stretched out it measured in at 4 1/2 in. When I originally created this goal it was about 2 1/2 and I had thoughts of wanting to shave it off, so I wanted to do atleast a good sized beard. Lately though I have thought about going longer before I cut it. I've invested so much time and effort into it now that I should keep taking it to the extreme as long as I can hold out. So we will see where things go from here.

74. mail post cards from each cool place I go during the summer

So I kind of completed this goal, even by going back to a few places just to get the post cards. But in the end, I had forgotten about the goal during my first trip out to carlsbad caverns and its way to far to go back just for a card, so I succumb to a partial.

77. sleep under the stars

I always slept in tents when outside, so I really wanted to sleep under the stars so I could fall asleep staring up at gods masterpiece. The hardest thing about sleeping outside is the insects or animals. Luckily I found a place in which those things aren't to be feared. Out here in Albuquerque they don't have mosquitos or insects of the biting sorts and the ones they do have aren't located at Chris' current apartment. We have a paupason outside behind a small 4 foot wall that is more oval shaped than a circle. One night I decided that I wanted to sleep outside as it was cooler than inside and being off the ground in a padded bowl with little chance of being bit by something. So I went for it and have been doing it for the past 5 nights, its wonderful!

So, my hope is when I return back to South Carolina I will have a bit more drive to keep this up to date and have more blogs about my progression through some goals.

Greetings everyone.... well I'm in New Mexico and I was able to complete my 99 list before I got here. As you may also see, I have all ready completed a few other goals as well; piercing, asheville visit and procurement of air-soft gun. Melissa and I went up to Asheville 3 weeks ago to get piercings and find wonderland. We first found wonderland and got some pictures and checked out their cool wares. We ate at this place that had the most amazing crab cake sandwich, it was delicious. Another amazing part is when some tourists asked me for directions and I gave it to them with ease and precision, just like a true member of the town. After this we went to the piercer and I got my tragus and melissa got her rook. Both came out looking awesome (pics on facebook). Asheville is such a beautiful city with lots of people that look like me. We got to enjoy some live music at a green by a band that played the marimba's (I think that's what they are, they look like xylophones but with tubes coming out the bottom). They were amazing, I have a video on facebook to check out as well. Weeks prior to all this though, my neighbor informed me that she had an air-soft gun, so I went out and purchased some orange plastic b.b's and proceeded to wait for the squirells to become a problem. Well, I wasn't able to take any shots at squirells as I think they are scared of me. The original reason I wanted to procure one was due to their incessant screeching, which I came to find out was due to mating and birthing season. I have captured pictures from each of these goals as well. Well, I am off to do some job hunting, please pray for God to provide me with an enjoyable job for this summer. With much peace and love....

Well, I have 8 more days until I head out to New Mexico. The more important countdown is that I have 8 days to finish creating my 99 list, or I will be stuck with failing a goal this early in the countdown. So I will be taking alot of next week to forcing myself to finish this. I have started scouring the internet for goal like pages for ideas and continually find one here and there for my list, but I am still 20 shy. I have all ready completed atleast 3 of my goals so far, so I am looking forward to highlighting them once I officially start the countdown. Once I start I will blog about them and upload a picture or two of the completed goal. As I was writing this I came up with a few great ideas and think I will add them to my list... I guess Ill describe them here, as I am not sure my goal description will best describe my desire. After my list is complete, I want to print it out in very small old english font on parchment paper and design it so it looks like a tiny scroll. From here I will create a small satchel to hold the scroll. This way I can travel with my scroll and mark things off when I do them. This way I can also periodically remind myself of my goals.

I'm looking forward to creating my goal list for New Mexico, it will be much shorter than this one, but chock full of amazing adventures and outings.

I recently fulfilled a desire of mine, but it wasn't on the list, but should have been. I wanted to watch a movie outside in secret garden from a projector on a big screen. Last week I fulfilled this desire by creating a 70 in tv screen and hanging out my neighbors window. I will take photos of that too, it is amazing. The first showing featured "The Last Unicorn", last nights showing featured "Moulin Rouge". I am hoping to do one more showing before I head out and I think that a concert dvd would be wonderful.

Well, I'm off to add some things to my list.

Its coming along...

My list is growing, slowly but surely. I went searchign the internet earlier for other peoples 99 in 999 and found 5 other people doing it. I decided to snake a few of their goals and make them my own. Making this list has really excited me with the possibilities and exciting adventures I'm going to have. If this list was made a few months ago, it may have had another half dozen added onto it, but as I have allready bought my ticket and planned alot of my trip out to New Mexico, I've decided to leave those off the list. Well, I continue to urge any one who reads this to let me know of any cool ideas you have for me to add... I'm always down for anything!
